From an initial base in Italy, Elco has built up an international business that now has manufacturing facilities on three continents and sells its products in more than 80 countries.

The Group has a workforce of over 800 people, of whom 300 are currently employed in Italy. The Group’s turnover in 2006 was approximately €77.6 million.

The Company has recently developed an electronically commuted motor (“ECM”) based on its patented circuit board technology incorporating proprietary embedded software and patented technical designs. The ECM is a new generation, high-efficiency motor in terms of energy saving for the commercial refrigeration market, and is a higher-value and higher-margin product than Elco’s traditional shaded pole motor. Its ECM achieves a significantly greater level of energy efficiency than traditional small electric motors.
